Fearless February - Let's Kick Anxiety to the C.U.R.B - Week 1


“Courage doesn’t mean you don’t get afraid. Courage means you don’t let fear stop you.”

Living with panic and anxiety is a daily challenge. One doesn’t feel very courageous while in the throws of a panic attack. Feeling courageous is the last thing on your mind when you are riddled with anxiety or feeling completely stressed out.

You don’t feel courageous – you feel beaten and broken.

BUT – COURAGE is exactly what you should focus on in those times of trouble. COURAGE is nothing more than taking one step more than you think you can. COURAGE is fighting through that panic attack and coming through the other side. COURAGE is breaking down what is producing so much anxiety into smaller, manageable pieces. COURAGE is not beating yourself up for having another panic attack. COURAGE is learning from that panic attack and instilling some new coping skills that work for you.

Don’t be shy in asking for what you need. Do you need to get some fresh air? Go do it. Do you need someone to talk to? Reach out for support. Asking for help is not a sign of weakness, but a sign of COURAGE. Do you need time to yourself? Set boundaries. Tell your friends and loved ones, “this is my time, I’ll get back to you shortly.”

Embrace the COURAGE within you often and you will feel empowered, braver, and in control.
